In memoriam Bernd Jager : IHSRC 2016 testimonies

Last year, during the annual conference IHSRC 2016, which took place in Ottawa, several friends and colleagues of Bernd Jager shared a few words during the conference dinner and gave him an hommage.

Remembering him today, at the occasion of the second anniversary of his death, we wanted to share with you the video of these testimonies. You will ear words from David Jager, Bertha Mook, Amedeo Giorgi, Akihiro Yoshida, Jacques de Visscher, Scott Churchill and Jacques Quintin.

Cinema and Phenomenology: Detachment

DetachmentOur next film projection for this new year will be “Detachment“, a movie released in 2011, directed by Tony Kaye and staring Adrien Brody.

It will take place on Thursday February, 19th at 17h45 in UQAM Psychology department (in Montreal), room SU-1550. This will be our 6th conference about Cinema and Phenomenology.

The film will be introduced by Tony Gosselin, PhD/PsyD student with Bernd Jager and with the presence of Jacques Quintin, professor of Ethics at the University of Sherbrooke. It will then be followed by a discussion, to which everybody present will be invited to participate.

This event is organized in collaboration with the CARPH and UQAM department of Psychology.

Cinema and Phenomenology: Lost in Translation

Lost in TranslationDon’t miss the projection of “Lost in Translation“, on Thursday November, 20th at 17h45 in UQAM Psychology department (in Montreal), room SU-1550. This will be our third conference about Cinema and Phenomenology.

Our theme this month is about existence, modernity and strangeness.

We have the honour this month to welcome Jacques Quintin, professor at the University of Sherbrooke, who will introduce the film. It will then be followed by a discussion, to which everybody present will be invited to participate.
